Politicians and Politics SUCK!

Why do I pay any attention to politics?  I just end up pissed off!

Starting with our current president.  He pisses me off daily and has since the day he was first elected.  I don’t know if I’ve written about this yet, but that day they showed his reaction on television when he found out he won the election (or assumed he had at that point, anyway) was that of a sixteen year-old brat.  That’s the only way I can describe it.  It was very annoying and I just got a really creepy feeling in my spine at that moment.  Over the past seven years, he hasn’t done a thing to make that creepy spine feeling go away.  Not only that, but he’s pissed me off as I’ve learned more and more about the lies told by him and this administration.

I’m as middle of the road politically as they come, I would say.  I think Republicans that I know think I must be Democrat.  Democrats assume I’m Republican.  Well, I’m registered as a Republican, but vote at least half the time for Democrats… go figure!  This I think I’ve explained somewhat earlier in my blog. Sort of.

Being a New Yorker, a few of the politicians associated with my home state have been in the news lately.  Starting with Hillary Clinton.  After moving in on our state to take advantage of an empty US Senate opportunity, she has represented us quite nicely, in my opinion.  I voted for her, even though I thought her method of getting in the race was sort of cheating.  That didn’t really matter to me because I like her.  If I didn’t think it was OK, of course I wouldn’t have voted for her.  And when realizing that her whole agenda was to use the US Senate for a stepping stone for the presidency, I felt a little “used” but since I’m happy with her job, for the most part, I can live with it.  In the past few days, though, I’m starting to get a little bit of an uneasy feeling about her.  I hate watching the whole campaign process, for one thing.  Everyone has to be so careful of what they say, obviously.  But, when someone they’re associated with says something a bit controversial, the candidate always has to disassociate themselves from them.  I hate that.  It seems wrong to me.  I’m talking about Geraldine Ferraro’s remark about Barack Obama.  I think what she said was true, but she did not do Clinton any favors by saying it.

Going out on a little tangent for a moment, Barack Obama would not be where he is today if he wasn’t black, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be here.  Hilary Clinton wouldn’t be where she is today if she wasn’t married to the 42nd President of the United States.  Therefore, she wouldn’t be where she is today if she wasn’t a white woman.  Although Ferraro’s statement is true, it is completely irrelevant.  And it pisses me off that it’s become an issue.  I said before that Obama’s race should not be an issue, but it’s a fact that it is an issue.  Nothing you can do about it.  Face it, America, someone will be our first black president at some point and the fact is HE (or she) WILL BE BLACK.  Just like Lincoln was our first president named Abraham, Garfield was the first lefty (handed, that is), Kennedy was our first Roman Catholic,  Carter was the first born in a hospital, Taft was over 300 pounds.  It should not be an issue. Just a fact.

So, Clinton hasn’t really pissed me off completely, yet, but I think she hasn’t been real smooth as far as dodging remarks against her associates and supporters.  Who was the guy who denied Jesus? (Isn’t Hillary the feminine of Peter?) HAHA.

Now we come to the most recent and upsetting politician from New York… ever.   That would be our soon to be ex-governor.  I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so… oh, I can’t even think of the word!  Back when Eliot Spitzer was our State Attorney General, I had great admiration and respect for him.  We got results from him.  He did an excellent job.  I didn’t know if he was Democrat or Republican.  I just plain liked him.  I voted for George Pataki as many times as he ran, even though I don’t know why.  Our state is a mess.  So, when Spitzer finally ran for governor, I was very pleased and optimistic.  I thought if anyone could turn us around, he could.

Fuck him! He completely screwed us all!  And what for?  Some bimbo?  A freaking whore!  I feel so bad for his family, most of all, but I feel almost as bad for New York.   How could he???!!! I’m just so extremely, intensely disappointed and angry (I tried to find a word in the thesaurus that means intense disappointment and anger, but there isn’t one strong enough… GRRRR!)  This is soooo much worse than Bill Clinton’s stupid antics.  What a freaking hypocrite!

Right now I feel like not voting for anyone in any election ever again and turning off my TV and reading no more papers or any political articles on the Internet or elsewhere.  I’m sure that won’t happen, but I’m just throwing up my hands… I’ve had ENOUGH!!!
